Other Coastguard-declared facilities in attendance on shore were South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade and Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team

Working with Northumbria Police. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service and North East Ambulance Service the incident was successfully concluded after around 70 minutes.

The lifeboat then returned to station, arriving at 05:45, where the volunteer crew refuelled and made her ready for service again.
