Stranded Fisherman Rescued
Humber Coastguard received a radio call for assistance at 14:10 from the skipper of an 8m angling boat and immediately requested the launch of Tynemouth RNLI all weather lifeboat to go to the assistance of the man who was alone on his vessel.
After clearing the Tyne piers the lifeboat crew soon located the casualty vessel and on reaching it, quickly attached a tow rope, and putting a crewman on board before it was towed to Royal Quays Marina.
Once the casualty was safely tied up the lifeboat returned to station.
