Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat launched to person in water
Humber Coastguard paged the lifeboat crew to launch at 22.21 after Northumbria Police made a request for assistance. The lifeboat launched just a few minutes later but had travelled upriver no more than 200 yards when it was stood down as the person had been brought to safety by Police officers.
The lifeboat returned the short distance to station and was made ready for service again.
