Cabin Cruiser towed to safety by Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat
Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the lifeboat at 14:54 after the skipper of the 7m boat called for help, reporting his position as approximately half a mile off South Shields.
The lifeboat and volunteer crew launched just 6 minutes after being paged and travelled at maximum speed out of the Tyne piers to the casualty vessel’s location.
The lifeboat then returned to station arriving at 16:00.
