Both Tynemouth RNLI lifeboats launched to person threatening self-harm
Humber Coastguard responded to a request for assistance from Northumbria Police at 14:03 after the person was reported to be located at the top of cliffs at Trow Point, and requested the launch of the lifeboats and a Coastguard Rescue Team to assist on land.
Shortly after the lifeboats left the berth the person was confirmed to be safe and in police custody and both boats then returned to station.
