Stranded men brought to safety by Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat
Humber coastguard requested the launch of the lifeboat at 17:25 after then men on the boat made a radio call for assistance.
The lifeboat, with a volunteer crew of three, quickly located the casualty with the assistance of Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team from shore, and attached a tow. The boat and its occupants were then taken to safety at Cullercoats, from where they had originally launched.
The lifeboat returned to station, arriving at 18:25.
