YELLOW objects in the sea led to Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat carrying out a search on Thursday afternoon.
A concerned member of the public reported seeing the objects in the sea off Marsden to Humber Coastguard at 16:30. Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat was already at sea after the previous service and was re-tasked to investigate in case there was someone in difficulty.
After travelling south for just three miles the lifeboat arrived in the area and found several lobster pot floats but nothing untoward. The lifeboat was stood down at 16:47 and returned to the Tyne to refuel before going back to the ship Brasschaat to bring two paramedics to shore.
