Relief Severn class lifeboat 17-17 Fraser Flyer was nearby at sea on a promotional trip and immediately went the short distance to investigate the situation. Although not Search and Rescue capable the crew of 17-17 kept watch over the casualty vessel for a short time until Tynemouth’s Severn class lifeboat Spirit of Northumberland arrived. The crew placed a crew member on board quickly attached a tow rope and took the boat to safety at Royal Quays Marina without further incident.
