Kayaker Thought To Be In Difficulty Investigated

Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team raised the alarm at 17:55 after they noticed a kayaker off Marsden Bay who appeared to have difficulty moving.

Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the inshore lifeboat to investigate, which sped to the scene, arriving five minutes after launching.

After locating the kayak with the assistance of the Coastguard team on shore, the occupant was found to be fishing and was in no difficulty.

Humber Coastguard then stood the lifeboat down and it returned to station arriving at 18:37.
