Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat station

Motor Boat Assisted

Prior’s Haven, Tynemouth

A motor boat ran aground in Tynemouth Haven on Monday evening, leading to Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat being tasked to investigate.

The all weather lifeboat was already nearby on a routine crew training exercise when Humber Coastguard tasked it at 19:00 to investigate the situation.

On arrival the crew found that the boat was in the process of being helped afloat by fishermen and stood by until the boat was able to get into deeper water and was undamaged.

Once the boat had left the scene the lifeboat resumed on exercise.
