Jetskier Taken To Safety By Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat

A jet ski rider was brought to safety by Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat on Thursday afternoon after he had fallen off his craft and become exhausted attempting to climb back on to it.

As the all weather lifeboat approached the boathouse while returning from the previous service the crew noticed a jetski rider who had fallen off his craft and was attempting to climb back onto it.
The rider was brought on board the lifeboat and found to be extremely exhausted after many attempts to get back onto the craft so he and his craft, which had also suffered engine failure,  were taken the short distance to South Shields slipway by two crew members using the inflatable Y-class lifeboat carried on board the all weather lifeboat.
Once the rider was safely ashore the Y-boat crossed the river back to the lifeboat station and was recovered by the all weather lifeboat as it was mooring on the berth.
