TWO people on board a 6m cabin cruiser were towed to safety by Tynemouth lifeboat station’s boarding boat after the vessel’s engine failed in the river Tyne next to the former Lloyds hailing jetty, next to the lifeboat station.

The station Coxswain and Mechanic noticed the boat stopping at 14:45 and quickly utilised the station boarding boat to go to here assistance. They attached a tow rope to the Midnight Pumpkin before taking her to safety at Royal Quays Marina.
