Angling boat towed to safety by Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat

AN angling boat with two men on board was towed to safety by Tynemouth RNLI all weather lifeboat after the vessel suffered engine failure.

The skipper of the 6m Bacardi C radioed Humber Coastguard for help at 11:55am after he had spend around four hours attempting to restart his engine.

The all weather lifeboat launched a few minutes later and sped to the stranded vessel which was located 4 and a half miles East of Souter Point.

Once the lifeboat reached the Bacardi C the volunteer crew attached a tow rope and towed the vessel and her occupants to safety at Royal Quays Marina.
