Tynemouth RNLI boarding boat takes tow over from Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat

Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat station boarding boat

TYNEMOUTH RNLI lifeboat station’s boarding boat was launched at 13:13 to take the angling vessel Adonis that was being towed in by Hartlepool RNLI’s Trent class all weather lifeboat.

The Hartlepool lifeboat had been on passage from Amble boatyard to Hartlepool and rescued the angling boat off South Tyneside after it suffered engine failure.

Hartlepool lifeboat was short-crewed and they had little experience of the Tyne so two Tynemouth crewmembers took the boarding boat to meet the lifeboat next to the lifeboat station and secured the Adonis alongside before placing the boat on its mooring at Satellite Quay, South Shields, before returning to station.
