Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat launched to woman in the water

REPORTS of a woman in the water at Mill Dam, South Shields, led to Tynemouth RNLI inshore lifeboat being launched at 10:06.

As the lifeboat sped to the scene a local fishing boat, the Emma Jane N, passed by, conveniently skippered by the Tynemouth lifeboat station Coxswain who recovered the woman from the water and handed her to Police on Mill Dam pontoon. The inshore lifeboat stood by until the woman was in a police vehicle before returning to station.
