Stranded men taken to safety by Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat

TWO men stranded on rocks by the tide were taken to safety this evening by Tynemouth RNLI inshore lifeboat.

Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the lifeboat at 19:52 after the men called for help after being cut off by the tide on rocks to the south of Marsden Bay, South Tyneside.

The men were taken aboard the lifeboat by the three volunteer crew and landed safely on the nearby beach where they could make their own way to the road. The lifeboat then returned to station.
