Tynemouth RNLI inshore lifeboat launched to man and dog on rocks

Tynemouth RNLI inshore lifeboat was requested to launch at 13:37 by Humber Coastguard after they had received a report from a concerned member of the public that a man and his dog were trapped on the rocks under the sea wall path running along the lower harbour at Tynemouth.

The crew quickly located the man who but when they approached him he refused assistance and told them he was just walking his dog along the rocks. The lifeboat returned to station as there was nothing further the crew could do.

The Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade also arrived and their members tried to persuade the man to go to a safer location  which he also refused to do so they kept watch on him until he eventually left the rocks.
