Dinghy recovered by Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat

Tynemouth RNLI's inshore lifeboat was requested to launch at 7:38am by Humber Coastguard after they received a report of a small boat with no occupants drifting near the ferry landing in the river Tyne.

The station boarding boat was utilised in this service as there were no people in danger, and the three volunteer crew made a search of the river before it transpired that the caller meant the former victorian ferry landing near Tynemouth Haven.  Once the lifeboat arrived there the crew quickly recovered the dinghy and put it ashore on the Haven before returning to station.
