Len Parks 90th birthday presentation at Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat station

STALWART supporter of Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat station Len Parks recently turned 90 and was presented with a cake and a few nips by crew and supporters, past and present, in a short celebration at the boathouse.

Len, a retired Master Mariner, began supporting the station shortly after World War II, where he served in the Merchant Navy, notably in the North Atlantic Convoys. He has shared his knowledge and expertise with several generations of lifeboat volunteer crewmembers, and is still relied on for his unique knowledge of navigation.
